Andalucia - Food So Good I Forgot to Take Photos!

So many good things have been written about Andalucia. Being authentic was one of their main traits. "The real deal," people would say about their food. "Just like in Spain," they would exclaim!

Naturally, I would have to see for myself. Not that I would have a true point of reference. I have never been to Spain in my life. Nor have I had a ton of experience with great Spanish food. Only a handful of tapas restaurants under my checklist of outings.

So, with a couple of good friends, I ventured to this spot. Tucked away at the south end of Downtown, it sat near the House of Blues. Right off the bat, it looked like a great date spot. A nice place to go to "pop the question" or take out of town company.

The particular night we arrived (which was a Friday around 8), there was live Flamenco music and Flamenco dancing. Such a nice touch to add to the rumors of authenticity!

But, alas, these reviews are all about the food. And, what can I say about it?! Really nothing...other than the fact that it was SO good I simply and truly forgot to take pictures!! Yes, that's right...this review of a restaurant has NO pictures because I was THAT busy eating that I totally forgot to provide proof of what I ate!

Recreating the meal in my mind, we ordered Empanadillas de Espinaca (spinach empanadas), Pinchos de Res (beef skewers), Gambas al Ajillo (shrimp served in garlic sauce), Bombas de Queso (fried goat cheese balls), and Bastilla (Moroccan chicken cinnamon pie - my favorite!). All of it was good. All of it was exceptional. And all of it would make me come back again!

I don't know if this food was authentic or not. I will leave that to those who know better than I do about those things. However, I do know that I authentically loved each bite. And really, isn't that all that matters?!
